If you have a day or a week, here are some of our favorite activities across the State of Georgia.

4. FEED A RHINO

“Oh give me a home, where the antelope roam, where watusi and big ligers play."

You’ll get licked by a giraffe, followed by a group of snorting spotted pigs, and eyeballed byllamas at Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain. The 500-acre park is home to emus, ostriches, buffalo, hyenas and animals from six continents.

Start off with the Serengeti Adventure, an hour-long, three-mile drive where you’ll see animals roaming freely. Make sure to buy plentyof food when you get your ticket, because the animals aren’t shy — as soon as they see your car, they’ll come running. You’ll have deer, sheep, zebra and ostriches all vying for your attention — and food — at once. You can take a bus tour, rent a van or drive your own car.

After you’ve fed the animals, take a self guided tour through The Walk About. Among the animals you’ll encounter are goats, muntjackdeer, a leopard, monkeys, snakes, wolves, a 13-ft. alligator named Big Al, an adorable trio of black bears and ligers (lion/tiger hybrids). There’s alsoa museum of indigenous Georgia animals and special exhibits.

Open daily. Adults $15.95, seniors $13.95,ages 3-12 $13.95, children under 2 free. 1300 Oak Grove Rd., Pine Mountain, 706-663-8744, 800-367 2751, animalsafari.com. – Teresa Mariano
